Frequently Asked Questions

Over the past 22 years, TTW has received many questions. Here are answers to the most common ones.

IMPORTANT DATES

  • APRIL 20, 2012 -Final date to register. Any registrations received after that date will be charged a $50 late fee.
  • APRIL 30, 2012 -50% of the pledge amount MUST be in support account to participate.
  • JUNE 1, 2012 -ALL paperwork/medical forms are due. Any paperwork received after that date will be charged a $50 late fee.
  • JUNE 20, 2012 -Final balance of the pledge amount is due.
  • JULY 2, 2012 -First day of Training Camp!

WHEN SHOULD I SIGN UP?

  • Right away! Space is limited on many of the trips!
  • Send in your registration form and the $75 registration fee as soon as possible.
  • Final date to register is April 20, 2012. Any registrations received after that date will be charged a $50 late fee.
  • Touch the World arranges all airfare at group rates and team members cannot arrange their own air transportation to mission locations.

WHAT IS INVOLVED IN THE APPLICATION PROCESS?

  • The application process begins once our office receives a completed registration form, photo, and registration fee.
  • Applicants are accepted provided there is still room available on the team of choice and they meet the team age requirements. If the team is full or applicant is not the appropriate age, other options will be offered.
  • After December 1st , information packages will be mailed to applicants within 2-3 weeks of receipt of registration. Materials can be sent by email if requested.
  • Information package includes: program details, all necessary paperwork and health information to be completed and returned, a fundraising guide including sample support letter and prayer cards, and specific team info.
  • All paperwork is due back in the TTW office by June 1, 2012. There will be a $50 late fee for any paperwork received after this date.

IS TRAINING CAMP IN ADDITION TO THE DATES OF THE TRIP & IS IT REQUIRED?

  • Training Camp is included in the dates of the trip. The first day of your trip will begin on Registration Day at Training Camp.
  • You will be at camp for three days before you head off to your field destination. All three days are a required part of the trip and are vital to the success of our Summer Program.

WHAT WILL YOUR PLEDGE INCLUDE?

  • Team members are required to pledge an equal portion of the overall team’s cost.
  • The base cost for each trip includes all meals (even while traveling), housing, in-country ground transportation, debriefing and day-off activity, and international departure taxes that may apply in certain countries. This price also covers the cost of tracts and literature, team supplies, project materials, equipment, administration fees, Training Camp fees, leadership support, and team set-up.
  • Due to economic fluctuation beyond our control, TTW reserves the right to alter the base cost as situations arise, in order to not cause financial burden to our missionary hosts in other countries.
  • The published pledge amount does not include airfare (if applicable), due to the unstable fluctuation of airfare prices. You will receive your total trip pledge as soon as flights are booked.
  • Any contributions that are raised over the pledge amount will be used towards the total team cost. If additional contributions still remain, they will be applied towards other teams.

WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE TRIP PRICE?

  • Transportation to Training Camp & from Return Rally in New Jersey.
  • Passport application & photos. Passports are now required for ALL international teams.
  • Doctor’s fee for physical/check-up and for any needed immunizations or medications.
  • Traveler’s Insurance (required for all international teams).
  • Spending money for souvenirs.
  • Airfare (WILL be included on your invoice as an estimate until the airfare is booked)

OUT-OF-STATE TEAM MEMBERS

  • Team Members flying from out-of-state must fly in and out of Newark/Liberty International Airport.  They must arrive between 1-4pm on Sunday, July 1, 2012, the day before training camp, and must depart between 11am-2pm the Monday after their Return Rally.
  • Arrangements will be made to pick-up and drop off out-of-state team members from Newark Airport at no additional cost.
  • Overnight accommodations at host homes will be provided for out-of-state team members at no additional cost.

WHY IS AIRFARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE COST OF THE TRIP?

  • Due to fluctuating airline prices, TTW has decided to wait until the teams are established and then seek the lowest group rates available.
  • In order to reserve seats, we will need 50% in each team member’s support account by April 30, 2012. Invoices sent after that date will reflect the base cost and the airfare, however please keep in mind that you will be responsible for any additional fuel or surcharges imposed by the airlines.

WHEN DOES ALL THE MONEY HAVE TO BE RAISED?

  • April 30, 2012 -- 50% of the pledge amount MUST be in support account to participate.
  • June 20, 2012 -- Final balance of the pledge amount is due.
